DMCA / Copyright Policy

Last updated: August 2, 2026|Effective: August 2, 2026

Overview

[LEGAL_ENTITY_NAME], doing business as "Jamia", respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users of the Service to do the same. We respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA"), 17 U.S.C. § 512, and, where content originates from users outside the US, we take equivalent action under applicable local copyright law. If you are in the EU, you may also submit a notice under the notice-and-action procedure of the Digital Services Act using the same contact details below; we will confirm receipt and tell you what we decided and why.

This policy covers user-submitted content across the Service, including business reviews, job and business listings, event and announcement content, and uploaded images.

1. Submitting a Takedown Notice

If you believe content on Jamia infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated agent (below) that includes:

  • A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorised to act on their behalf.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
  • Identification of the material claimed to be infringing, and information reasonably sufficient to let us locate it (e.g. a link or description of where it appears in the app or on jamiaapp.com).
  • Your contact information, address, telephone number, and email address.
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are authorised to act on behalf of the copyright owner.

On receipt of a compliant notice, we will remove or disable access to the identified material and notify the user who posted it.

2. Counter-Notice

If you believe content you posted was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notice to our designated agent containing:

  • Your physical or electronic signature.
  • Identification of the removed material and where it appeared before removal.
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  • Your name, address, telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court in your district (or, if outside the US, an appropriate judicial district) and will accept service of process from the original complainant.

Upon receiving a valid counter-notice, we may restore the content within 10–14 business days unless the original complainant files a court action seeking a restraining order.

3. Repeat Infringers

We terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are repeat infringers of others' copyrights.

4. Designated Agent

Notices under this policy should be sent to our designated agent:
