Masjid Admin Agreement

Last updated: August 2, 2026|Effective: August 2, 2026

Who this applies to

This Agreement applies to anyone who registers or administers a masjid account on Jamia (web dashboard or mobile admin app). It supplements, and is incorporated into, our general Terms of Service. If there is a conflict between the two specifically regarding masjid accounts, this Agreement controls.

1. Scope & Relationship to the Terms

This Masjid Admin Agreement ("Agreement") is between [LEGAL_ENTITY_NAME], doing business as "Jamia" ("we", "us"), and the individual or organisation registering or administering a masjid account ("you", "the masjid"). It governs your use of masjid-facing features: the admin dashboard, prayer/iqamah schedule management, announcements, events, jobs, business directory moderation, fundraisers, and donation collection via Stripe Connect.

2. Authority to Register

By registering a masjid, you confirm that you are an authorised representative of that masjid (e.g. an imam, board member, or designated administrator) with actual authority to create the account, publish content on the masjid's behalf, and enter into this Agreement and our Terms of Service for the masjid. We reserve the right to request evidence of this authority and to suspend an account if we reasonably believe it does not represent a genuine masjid or that the registering individual lacked authority to create it.

3. Content Responsibility

You are solely responsible for the accuracy of everything published under your masjid account, including prayer and iqamah times, announcements, event details, job postings, and fundraiser descriptions. Jamia does not verify this content before or after publication and makes no warranty as to its accuracy. Content you publish is subject to our Community Guidelines.

  • Prayer/iqamah time overrides you set take priority over Jamia's calculated times for your community — you are responsible for keeping them accurate.
  • Community-notification broadcasts (e.g. announcing a janazah) are sent at your direction; you are responsible for the accuracy and appropriateness of what you choose to broadcast.
  • You are responsible for moderating your own masjid's job and business listings where our tools give you that ability.

4. Donations, Fundraisers & Stripe Connect

Jamia is a technology provider, not a fundraising platform or money transmitter

Donations made through your masjid's page are transferred directly to your own Stripe Connect account. Jamia never receives, holds, or has custody of donation funds at any point.

  • You are solely responsible for your masjid's tax-exempt or charitable status (if any) and for issuing any donor tax receipts — Jamia makes no representation about your masjid's charitable or tax-exempt status and does not verify it before enabling donations.
  • You are solely responsible for registering to solicit charitable contributions in every state, province, country, or jurisdiction where applicable law requires it, including where you solicit donations from residents of a jurisdiction other than your own.
  • You are responsible for your own Stripe Connect account's compliance with Stripe's terms, including any KYC/identity verification Stripe requires.
  • Refunds of donations already transferred to your Stripe Connect account are between you and the donor; Jamia has no ability to reverse a settled transfer.

5. Member Data You Manage

As a masjid admin, you may access limited data about your community's members through verification, event RSVP, program enrollment, and moderation tools. You agree to use this data only for legitimate masjid administration purposes, to keep it confidential, and not to export, sell, or share it outside the Service except as necessary to run your masjid (e.g. contacting a member about an event they registered for). Jamia acts as the data processor for this information on your behalf as the masjid; you are responsible for having a lawful basis to process it under applicable law.

If your masjid is established in the EU or the UK, you are the controller of that member data and we are your processor. Our processing is limited to what this Agreement and your instructions require; the categories of data, purposes, and sub-processors are those described in our Privacy Policy. Email support@jamiaapp.com if you need a separate data processing agreement for your records.

6. Fees & Payment

Paid masjid admin features are billed as described at checkout on the web dashboard. Fees are non-refundable except as required by law or as separately agreed. We may suspend access to paid features if payment fails and is not resolved within a reasonable grace period.

7. Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate a masjid account that violates this Agreement, our Terms of Service, or our Community Guidelines, or that we reasonably believe does not represent a genuine masjid. You may close your masjid account at any time by contacting support@jamiaapp.com; closing the account does not retroactively refund fees already paid or reverse donations already transferred.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless [LEGAL_ENTITY_NAME] and its officers, employees, and agents from any claim, loss, or damages (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: content you publish under your masjid account, your failure to comply with charitable-solicitation or tax-reporting obligations, or your breach of this Agreement.

9. Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by the same governing-law and dispute-resolution terms set out in §12 of our Terms of Service, including the binding arbitration and class-action waiver provisions applicable to US-based organisations.
